Scouts actively engages and supports young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. We act with care, respect, integrity, cooperation, exploring our own and others’ beliefs.
From its inception Scouting has had a simple and positive Promise that is required to be made by all its Members. Together with the Law, this gives a distinctive ethos to the practices of the Movement, and acts as a bond with Scouts in other countries.
Furze Platt Scout Group
Furze Platt Scout Group has its own headquarters in the northern part of Maidenhead. We have a Squirrels section, two Beaver Colonies, two Cub Packs, a Scout Troop and an associated Explorer Unit (Kaizen Explorers) with all groups open to both boys and girls.
Each section meets on one evening each week at our headquarters during school term time. During the summer months we normally meet at our own campsite near Cookham. We are a very active Group and all Sections have the opportunity to Camp at least once a year whether it be a weekend camp for our younger members, the annual Cub Camp or a week long Scout or Explorer Summer Camp.
