Programme

Scouts are boys and girls aged 10 to 14 years old.

As with all Sections in the Group Scout Troop activities are based on a programme of activities and training to develop wpe80728.gif (262891 bytes) our skills and knowledge with a particular bias towards the outdoors.

We have an annual summer camp of some 10 days, as well as several weekend camps throughout the year. We are able to help with the Cub Camp and take part in the Group Parent and Child Camp.

The Scout District is very active and enables us to take part in many competitions and events with other Scouts in the Maidenhead District.

A cornerstone of the Scout Section method is the Patrol System. A Scout is wpe01224.gif (191517 bytes) first and foremostwpe94147.gif (173542 bytes) a member of a 'Patrol'. It is in this Patrol, which will be led by an experienced Scout called the 'Patrol Leader', that the majority of activities will take place. It is likely to be the Patrol Leader who will teach most of the basic Scouting skills and it is a committee of the Patrol Leaders called the Patrol Leaders Council that will make the key decisions about which activities form part of the Troop programme.
